What to look for when choosing a vacuum cleaner

Today on the market there is a huge selection of vacuum cleaners of various prices and characteristics. It is not so easy for a person who does not understand this technique to choose a suitable vacuum cleaner. In this article we will consider the main parameters that you should pay attention to when choosing a vacuum cleaner.

Dry and wet cleaning

The first thing you need to decide is the type of cleaning. There are vacuum cleaners for dry and wet cleaning.

Vacuum cleaners for dry cleaning

Dry cleaning is our usual vacuum cleaner operating mode. These vacuum cleaners are designed to absorb dust and debris from the surface: carpets, linoleum, laminate and other coatings. Dust gets into special dust collectors, which must be periodically cleaned.

Such vacuum cleaners vary in suction power, dust bag size and design. Suction power is the main parameter that you need to focus on when choosing vacuum cleaners with a dry type of cleaning. We will consider this parameter below.

Vacuum cleaners for wet cleaning

These vacuum cleaners are designed for wet cleaning. With their help, you can wash carpets, mop floors and other surfaces. It is undesirable to use such vacuum cleaners for cleaning on laminate and parquet, as they are afraid of moisture.

These vacuum cleaners differ among themselves in the sizes of capacity for water and detergents. The larger the room that needs to be cleaned, the larger the size of the liquid containers should be.

It is worth paying attention to the list of detergents that the manufacturer of the vacuum cleaner recommends using for their models. By the way, you can purchase any vacuum cleaner with delivery in Ukraine.

In addition to wet cleaning, these vacuum cleaners can also carry out dry cleaning. However, it is worthwhile to understand that using them for dry cleaning is not entirely convenient and advisable.

  • Firstly, they are much heavier than conventional vacuum cleaners.
  • Secondly, the price of vacuum cleaners for wet cleaning is much higher than vacuum cleaners for dry cleaning and spending their resources on tasks that can be performed by a cheaper analogue is impractical.

Suction power

This is the most important parameter that you need to pay attention to when choosing a vacuum cleaner. The larger this parameter, the better.

Vacuum cleaners with adjustable suction power are on the market. Such vacuum cleaners are more versatile. For cleaning a not so dirty room, 300 W of suction power will be enough. For more dirty surfaces, this parameter should be 400-450 watts.

If you choose a vacuum cleaner without adjustable suction power, you will either not be able to clean more dirty surfaces (if the power of the vacuum cleaner is 300 W), or you will consume excess electricity when cleaning less soiled surfaces (if the suction power is more than 400 W) .

Other options

Also, when choosing a vacuum cleaner, you should pay attention to the noise level, nozzles that come with the kit, the volume of the dust bag, the cord length of the vacuum cleaner.

Other things being equal, it is naturally better to choose a cleaning technique with a larger dust bag, longer cord and lower noise level.
